It is September, 1947 and even though World War II is over there is a
major emergency taking place in Europe: Hunger. George Marshall, the U.S. Secretary of State
and former Army Chief, is trying to solve this crisis. He has proposed a
plan to rebuild Europe from the war but first there has to be enough
food for the population.
Marshall is on the Cabinet Committee on World Food Programs, a special
unit created by President Harry Truman to deal with hunger and food
